Chicago Federal Center
Designed by Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe, completed in 1974. The Federal Center consists of three separate government buildings surrounding a main plaza. Each building encompasses Mies’s motto, “god is in the details”, defined by its rigid grid and protruding I-beams. The buildings have become a beacon of international style architecture and are Chicago icons.
